Privacy Policy

PharmDev Ltd ("PharmDev," "we," "us," or "our") operates a medicine delivery marketplace connecting customers with licensed pharmacies and delivery riders across Ghana, through our customer app, rider app, pharmacy dashboard, and this website. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have over it — in line with Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).

By creating an account or using any PharmDev app, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

1. Information we collect

From customers: name, phone number, email address, delivery addresses, order history, and — when you upload a prescription for a controlled medicine — a photo of that prescription. If you pay by mobile money or card, the payment itself is processed by Paystack; PharmDev does not store your full card number or mobile money PIN.

From delivery riders: name, phone number, a Ghana Card photo and a selfie for identity verification, real-time GPS location while online and delivering, vehicle details, and mobile money or bank account details for payouts.

From partner pharmacies: business name, licence details, owner/contact information, inventory and pricing data, and payout account details.

Automatically: device information, app usage data, and — on this website — analytics data via Google Analytics, but only after you accept our cookie banner.

2. How we use your information

• To create and manage your account, and verify your identity where required (e.g. rider Ghana Card checks).
• To connect you with the nearest licensed pharmacy or an available delivery rider, and to fulfil, track, and confirm orders.
• To process payments and payouts through our payment partners (Paystack, mobile money networks).
• To send order updates, delivery confirmations, and — where you've opted in — promotional messages.
• To respond to support requests and resolve order disputes.
• To meet our legal and regulatory obligations, including under the Postal and Courier Services Regulatory Commission Act and Ghana's Data Protection Act.

3. Prescription and health-related data

Prescription photos you upload are shared only with the licensed pharmacy fulfilling that specific order, for the purpose of verifying and preparing your medicine. We treat this as sensitive personal data and do not use it for advertising or share it with any third party beyond what's needed to fulfil your order.

4. Who we share data with

We share personal data only where necessary to operate the platform:

• Pharmacies — order details and delivery address, to prepare and fulfil your order.
• Delivery riders — your name, phone number, and delivery address, to complete the delivery.
• Paystack — payment details necessary to process a transaction or payout.
• Google Firebase — our database, authentication, and push notification infrastructure provider.
• Regulators or law enforcement — only where required by Ghanaian law.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

5. Data retention

We retain account and order data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to meet accounting, tax, and dispute-resolution obligations. You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time (see Section 7).

6. Data security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections, access-controlled databases, and identity verification before rider approval. No system is perfectly secure, and we encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your PharmDev account.

7. Your rights

Under Ghana's Data Protection Act, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and personal data, subject to legal/accounting retention requirements.
• Withdraw consent for promotional communications at any time.

8. Children's privacy

PharmDev is not intended for use by children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above.
